Hello everyone,
After living in the new house for almost a year now, we want to start converting a basement room into a hobby room. The precast basement has external insulation. The walls in the room are smooth shuttering except for one side; insulating screed has already been installed. All the joints have already been filled. There is no underfloor heating; here we want to use infrared or similar because it’s not in constant use. We are now wondering which materials are best to design the basement. For the floor covering, cork would certainly be the most comfortable, but I’m not sure if that would make sense in the basement, so vinyl is the second option. For the walls, either wallpaper or plaster - the question here is also whether wallpaper makes sense in the basement and which type of wallpaper or plaster would be best suited. Do the walls generally need to be pretreated?
I look forward to feedback, suggestions, as well as tips and tricks.
Thanks and best regards,
Steffen
