Hello,

a case example:
the construction company ordered too little concrete and only after 13 hours poured the last third of a floor slab.
Weather: 10-15 degrees and rain.

Is this still acceptable or are late effects to be expected?

Thank you and best regards

Don't worry, if they have taken it into account, nothing will happen! What do you think, for example, how big buildings are constructed?

For a single-family house, "considered" that it is poured in two steps? I don't believe that...

I would definitely inquire further, preferably with external expertise, about how the force-locking of the parts was ensured.

If it should be a WU slab, and an unplanned concrete joint has formed, i.e. no joint tape was installed, the WU function of the slab is lost. If it is not a WU slab, I don't see a major problem there.

Hello,

thank you for the answers.

It is/was a WU slab, but I don’t really trust the matter anyway and wanted to have the barrier membrane and the welding membrane done as well. Now they are doing it for free, or rather the roofer will do the welding membrane, but the shell builder pays.

It is certainly not the ideal solution, but I don’t really want to take everything out and have it redone, and that would probably be over the top anyway.

I’m less worried about the load-bearing capacity now, when I see what kind of floor slabs and houses our neighbors are building... the slabs are weaker and the house sometimes weighs three times as much. (heavy, thick concrete blocks)

Good evening,

Yes to the first and no to the second part of the question.

Constructing the base slab in sections is a common practice on construction sites; albeit also in larger construction projects. If care was taken to ensure that the end of the partial pour was formed rough and sloping (not smoothed off), and the reinforcement was left protruding, there will be no problems.

Best regards from the Rhineland
