I added a new balcony to the house in 2016. The supplier/installer recommended laying the floor Balkoplan from the company Mehlhose on the steel frame, which I agreed to. It is a kind of wood fiber-concrete mixture and quite a mess, I tell you. I found a post about it here https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/balkoplan-balkonboden-funktioniert-nicht.25238/ I have exactly the same problems, the floor is now hardly presentable and all the small particles (appearance) are coming loose by the millions, flying around in the garden, into the house, etc. Now I wanted to ask if there are similar experiences here and if anyone can say whether this floor can be "tiled over." Best regards, Sven

I would contact the manufacturer to see what they say about it. The stuff is very expensive and is supposed to last forever. If it was installed correctly, it might still have a manufacturer's warranty? We have "Balkodur" from the same manufacturer, but only for half a year and no problems as described.

@S I would also approach the manufacturer (however, without emotion). If you were the client, you may have commissioned the overall project through a specialist dealer or the installation separately through a company. Your contractual partner is your contact person. In writing and by registered mail, in which the reference line clearly states "NOTICE OF DEFECTS with request for rectification." The system you mentioned is usually quite durable. It is possible that a fault occurred during production, which can always happen and cannot be recognized during installation. However, as soon as you "lay hands on" the floor (for example through reworking with tiles or similar, which would also be technically nonsensical), you inevitably lose the warranty claim from the delivery contract. Thank you for your hints. I have already contacted the manufacturer. A field service representative will come by, it was a good contact. I no longer have any warranty claims. Since I was working with the pressure washer, the issue is settled (the tiles looked like a mess after winter, without a Kärcher I would never have gotten them clean). Now I just want them to tell me what options there are to spruce up the floor again.

A pressure washer (without a mechanical brush attachment or similar) should not damage the surface of the Balkoplan / Balkodur panels as long as it is a device for home use (and not an industrial cleaner for removing graffiti).
