Hello everyone,
we have a large balcony with about 20 meters over 2 sides. The balcony is now being completed and I have a question, maybe someone knows something about it.
Since the handrail is too long for one piece, the handrail was connected at several points with pipe connectors. There is always a small visible gap where 2 handrails were pushed into each other. It doesn't look really nice now. I wonder if it doesn’t make more sense to weld these spots together?
I haven’t found much about this on the internet, except that you either use pipe connectors or weld them together.
I’ve also read that, for example, water can penetrate into the seam of the pipe connectors and then it could rust despite stainless steel.
Has anyone any insight on this? What is the state of the art or how is it done properly?
