I am considering whether to have my bathroom designed by an interior decorator or try it myself. The construction itself is not the problem, I can do that. I just want a somewhat more unusual bathroom or a harmonious bathroom. I am confident enough to put the "puzzle pieces" together, but when it comes to selecting the individual components, I am usually not so happy. What is important to me is simply that everything matches. An interior decorator seems to be the better choice here; at least pictures you find on the internet suggest that not just anyone randomly picked the components themselves. But how does that work then? Can I have a bathroom designed by an interior decorator, have everything delivered, and then install everything myself? You can do that with kitchens, so surely also with bathrooms? I have already searched for some inspiration online; there are quite a few pictures, but some kind of "shopping list" is nowhere to be found. Hmm, well, how did you do it here? PS: I basically have the money set aside to have a concept created, of course, there are limits, unfortunately :) Do you maybe know a site where you can get some ideas and inspiration? I usually only find this and that. But no site where you can see 5 or 6 bathrooms at once. Is there perhaps also a program you can play around with, i.e., select different components and also see how it would look?

A common approach is to visit various bathroom showrooms, where consultants are then helpful with combinations of faucets, tiles, and ceramics. Larger showrooms (or also specifically smaller ones) have bathroom designers who plan the bathroom with corresponding interior in 3D for you.

New build or old building?

okay thanks already for the info. Not really an old building, but not a new building either. The house is 30 years old. The bathroom itself was renovated 5 years ago. You’re happy to tear everything out there :D
