Good evening everyone!
It’s not quite time for us yet, but of course everything is already being planned in my head. ;)
Our terrace will face north. Concrete slabs are planned. Underneath, there is usually a bed of gravel, as far as I know. Now I have read that north-facing terraces struggle with constant moisture due to the lack of sun. Would a gravel bed even be the best option there? Or is there a better option against moisture?
Thanks and have a nice evening, everyone!

The question is, how much sun do you get? How tall is the house? Does the sun come from the east and west as it moves? Basically, the "problem" is only that the terrace stones tend to turn green. But this can be dealt with in spring. Only a south-/west-facing terrace.

We have 2 full floors and a building height of over 7 meters. I have also read about the greening, which is actually not our biggest concern and quite easy to fix. However, I had read that moisture collects under the terrace during rain and high humidity, and due to the lack of sun it does not dry or dries only slowly, resulting in permanent moisture. Therefore, the question is whether a gravel bed would be supportive or rather counterproductive in this case…

A little bit of sun still reaches our north terrace to this day, in summer there is long daily sun in the late afternoon and early evening. The sunset is also northwest. It’s not as dark a hole as one might think.
