Hello community.
We built a house in 2015 and also immediately covered the attic floor with OSB boards after a "reasonable" amount of time (including cross battens). Now, in hindsight, one reads that OSB was not the best choice and can lead to mold formation, but I don’t feel like tearing everything out again. It is an unheated attic. One could now cut open some spots to check if mold has formed, or... that is the question: use a moisture meter? I have an electronic one with a metal ball at the front that measures moisture content. I have also measured at several spots upstairs before and all the values were good... so dry. Would a measurement with this also be possible so that moist areas can be detected without causing damage, and from this one could immediately infer an increased risk of mold? OR is it not advisable and one SHOULD unscrew the boards and check after all??
Thanks for your opinion
