Hello everyone,
I am still in the planning phase of my attic conversion. There are countless threads and help on this topic. Thanks in advance. We need another room under the roof. I wanted to do everything by myself and I am handy. The house is less than 10 years old. The attic itself is already covered with tongue and groove boards, and there is insulation underneath. I have to do the insulation between the rafters with 20 cm. My questions are: 1) I read that the floor should be done with dry fill and then dry screed. That is, of course, quite elaborate. What do you think? It should, of course, be quiet, as our bedroom is directly below. 2) I want to install an air conditioner. Now I keep wondering whether it would be smarter to mount it on the pitched roof, but I wonder how to get through the roof tiles. Can I just push hoses underneath? 3) I would like a multi-split system also for the 1st floor. Now the walls here are thickly insulated, and if I go to the outer walls, I will damage the vapor barrier foil. How can this be solved well? The easiest is if the condensate water is channeled through the slopes to the roof and the unit is installed on the roof slope. But how do I then get the drain hose outside? 4) Can I lay the lines in the intermediate floor or is the knee wall always used? It concerns electricity and air conditioning. 5) For the stairs, I unfortunately have to go 2-3 meters along the collar beams and make the opening there. Can you install such long beams, or is that statically impossible? It would be great if you could give me tips. Thanks.
