We have underfloor heating in the screed and want solid oak planks 20mm thick as flooring. We do not want to use adhesive because of all the emissions, even though it would naturally hold best that way.

Has anyone had experience with these clip systems, where the planks are laid floating? Clips are apparently either placed under the planks or between the wall and the planks.

It is clear that heat transfer is not as good as with glued flooring. But I don’t care, we will simply turn up the heating a bit if it’s not warm enough. By the way, we have a gas boiler.

So the concrete question: Has anyone had good or bad experience with clip installation? Or did anyone have the floor come up because the fastening method simply didn’t hold?

Thank you very much.

Hello questioner. The system with spring clips between the individual boards is already about 30 years old, so nothing new. It was at least used back then by the company JUNCKERS for high-quality solid planks and multi-layer parquet - and it worked excellently! Regards: KlaRa

There is organic glue, so you don't have to worry about it anymore.

There are absolutely no problems with the system from the company Weiss. But without underfloor heating.

Ökotest and Warentest have tested Parkettkleber several times and could not include any Kleber without toxic emissions in the final assessment.

How do you then fix your tiles? Don’t you have any furniture or kitchen? There is certainly nothing toxic left, rather possibly harmful to health. And the [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] and airing out help quite well with that.

I wouldn’t let it drive me crazy.

That's how it looks. Upholstered furniture or electrical appliances are usually much further ahead when it comes to emissions.

Ventilation on!
