Attach older Ikea Pax sliding doors to a new corpus & install dampers

we are currently considering buying about 7-year-old frosted glass sliding doors and also buying a new frame for them.

a) in my opinion, it should fit - or do you see it differently?
b) are there dampers available for the old doors as well?

Pax STORDAL, right? If you buy the carcasses in the correct size, then the door fits.
There were no dampers back then and the current one probably won't fit. You have to try that out. Unlike dampers for drawers with soft closing, I consider the KOMPLEMENT snap fitting for the sliding doors completely unnecessary.

mh no idea what they're called. I definitely pay attention to the corpus height! It would be right in the neighboring town for pickup

I'm just still pondering about the Pax quality.

My 2.20m Pax (in height!) is from 1997 and still solid and stable even after the 3rd move. I can't say if the new series can manage that too. And since I still have the old folding doors, I also can't use 99% of the current accessories - except for boards, the rod, and the expensive Komplement drawer insert in 75

PAX was also 236 cm or 201 cm high back then.

You may need to be a bit careful with the corpus width to ensure it matches the doors.
In 1997, the particle board was probably still bonded with formaldehyde. Whether stability also came with the formaldehyde? In any case, the chances of being able to buy a corpus afterwards will be greater than with other manufacturers.

not quite - in 1997 there was the 2.2m Pax. A perfect size!
