Hello everyone,

I got an old empty wine barrel from my local wine merchant. Now I have placed a glass top on it with foam strips (actually removable table leg gliders) between the barrel rim and the glass plate. As you have probably noticed by now, this solution is not exactly the safest :).
Do you have any idea how I can secure the plate more safely?

Best regards
Dirk

There are glass plate holders (partly specially for wine barrels). They are placed on the wine barrel/ screwed on and then the glass plate rests on them.

A quick image from the internet as a possible example:

Alright, but the plate is not fixed then either. Thanks anyway

But that's normal. Due to the weight of the panel, it doesn’t shift. This is often done with coffee tables, etc. as well.

BUT: There are also variants where the panel is then screwed in place. For that, holes are needed in the glass panel. For example:

Alright, you are right again. Glass tops of living room tables are usually just placed loosely as well.

You can attach suction cups. Nothing will slip anymore.
