Hello everyone,

we are currently planning our terrace and were thinking of having 120x30 cm terrace slabs with a thickness of 2 cm laid on gravel.

Terrace slab wood look (porcelain stoneware 30x120x2):

We just have a few concerns that these could be particularly prone to breaking due to their 120 cm length.

Has anyone already had experience with such slabs or what is your general opinion on them?

These slabs are also available in 60x60 cm, but of course the wood look doesn't look as nice with that.

I would be very happy about any experience/opinion/suggestion!

Thank you very much and best regards!

Why don't you use wood?

30 times 120 times 2. Two! In gravel bed. It's not mine. That will break.

Because of the maintenance and durability of the patio slabs compared to wood.

So, something like that is definitely not laid in gravel but in [edel Split]. We will be laying [90x45x2] here soon, but it will still take 1-2 weeks.

Sorry for the term gravel, I actually meant fine split if you want to be exact.

What did your patio builder say and recommend to you regarding your 90x45x2 or even larger slab sizes?
