Hello casimum, the question of "is it worth it..." is a bit tricky: financially, this investment will probably not pay off easily, but in terms of supply security, this investment can be worthwhile, as you become (more) independent from external energy supplies. This independence is becoming increasingly important nowadays, where every cough from a politician drives oil and gas prices up. Technically, this is not a problem and has been tested thousands of times; however, the consumption of energy to operate such a system (electricity) and for additional heating during special cold periods must be minimized. It is therefore important to tailor the solar system and heat pump directly to the location (your house) so that everything works efficiently. This should be planned and calculated by a specialized engineering firm. This is also where the question of amortization is addressed.
