Are porcelain tiles recommended?

Would advise against polished porcelain stoneware tiles. We made the mistake 18 years ago of laying dark polished porcelain stoneware in the entrance area, you are constantly cleaning and then polishing, and despite that, as soon as someone walks over it with socks, I could scream, you see every mark. If then unpolished porcelain stoneware, that is more resistant. We have such in the basement area, it holds up better.
