Are Ikea Metod plastic legs sturdy enough for heavy cabinets?

Hello,

I am hesitating whether to take the plastic legs or the stainless steel Capita. The cabinets will be quite heavy (very heavy countertop, oven, etc.) and somehow the plastic seems too flimsy to me. Therefore, I would tend to go for Capita, the big disadvantage is that you have to improvise when attaching the base (included with the plastic legs).

Can one trust the plastic feet now? Has anyone had bad experiences?

125 kg per leg, so 600 kg per cabinet if you use 4 plus possibly the load capacity of the hanging rail, that’s already quite a lot. If you want to be absolutely sure, you can screw a few CAPITA underneath as well.

Capita does not have the load-bearing capacity of the Faktum / Metod legs, the threaded piece on Capita is only pressed in, so it is not one piece.

Do you also want to let an elephant stomp on the countertop in addition to the dishes, oven, and pots?

Elephants are not yet planned OK, then it stays with the plastic parts.

Only the tall cabinets I will fix to the wall, the other base cabinets are too far away from the wall (worktop depth 72cm).
