Hello everyone,
we are scheduled to hand over our new apartment in November. The wallpapering work in the apartment is already completed.
During the last inspection of our apartment, we noticed 2-3 mm wide joints (2-3 mm) between individual woodchip wallpaper strips.
Overall, this looks very unsightly. After consulting with our architect, we received the following feedback.
"The expansion joints between non-load-bearing gypsum board walls and the load-bearing walls are necessary so that movements in the building do not transfer to the gypsum board walls and cause uncontrolled cracks there."
As a layperson, I cannot assess this statement. Is this statement correct?
Can you please help me?
Thank you very much!
