Are drainage joints in the base area unnecessary?

Yes, definitely. However, I was still glad that the joints are there. I have also seen washouts at the openings in other houses. In this respect, I find the choice of the word "never" problematic.

Hi,

now a little feedback after the heavy rains of the last weeks and days.

We had heavy rains a few weeks ago and now it has been raining almost every day for a week. (M.M.n. kann man das als Stresstest bezeichnen.) Despite these circumstances, no moisture problem is observed: no moisture stains can be seen either from the inside or the outside. There is nothing unusual at all.

So this construction method seems to prove itself.
