We have now signed the house construction contract (with Spektral Haus)...
Before applying for the building permit, I still need to take care of the necessary insurances. The important ones seem to be:
- Builders’ liability insurance
- Construction all-risk insurance
- Residential building insurance (including fire shell construction insurance)
I would again be very grateful for tips or recommendations from "experts" or experienced home builders regarding these insurances!
I have looked at price lists and found that there are big differences. Are the cheap insurances just as good as the expensive ones?
For example, for builders’ liability insurance, HUK, Medien or Haftpflichtkasse Da. are very cheap. Well-known companies like Debeka or even Allianz are significantly more expensive. It’s similar for the construction all-risk insurance, where Zurich is the cheapest.
Has anyone had positive/negative experiences with construction insurances?
Is it correct that normally the costs of the construction all-risk insurance are split between the builder and the construction companies?
