Hello forum,
we are building a single-family house with a glass bay window. The foundation of the glass bay window runs 1.3 m deep from the outside of the brickwork and has a width of 4 m. The ceiling height will then be 2.58 m. It was now determined that due to the roof slope (the roof was supposed to be simply extended) the patio doors and 2 windows are only 1.82 m high. We then have to crawl out of the approximately 1.72 m high patio doors, only to get caught on the gutter. If we don’t hit the ceiling first.:mad:
No one noticed this. At least we had submitted photos of the bay window to be planned. The acceptance of the photos was also confirmed. The bay window was not supposed to have a lintel in the transition area between living room and bay window. The ceiling height was supposed to be continued.
For the first time today, we received the section drawing indirectly. The site manager seriously said that we could still gain 5-10 cm. Well then, we are looking at a thick wall/ceiling of 80 cm + gutter. You’ll probably still see a bit of grass.
Isn’t this already blatant nonsense? Are we again the only ones liable for these planning errors?
