Hello everyone,
we have found our architect for the construction of a single-family house and now have the architect contract available.
Do you see any pitfalls or is the contract okay as it is? Thanks for your input.

Best regards, xstelas

Are you with the Bauherren-Schutzbund or something similar? You can have contracts checked there …

A very good tip from . The most important thing for me in a contract is that I assume the contracting party is agreeable and that I can get along with them. I cannot judge how compatible you are with the architect. A good gut feeling does not reliably protect you, but a bad gut feeling is a good advisor to keep your distance - no matter what the contract says. Therefore: Also listen to your "gut feelings," dear builders.

Thank you for the tip about the [Bauherrnschutzbund], I will look into it. Basically, we have a good feeling about the architectural firm.

If you already know that you want to build in single contract award and the architect works the way you envision - you can do it like that.... If you want to keep the option of a general contractor turnkey construction open or if you want to have the possibility to get rid of the architect - then do max. service phases 1-4 and only more if it then fits...

I am missing a proper description of the architect services and duties there ... google for Architekten-Standardvertrag or Architektenvertrag für Gebäude, there are reasonable templates.
