Rent a wet cutting machine from the rental park. Nothing else will work if you have never handled the equipment (Winkelschleifer Steine schneiden) before.

Unless you want to pave for 1 day and cut for 3 days.

I find the tip for a beginner somewhat questionable.... because of electric angle grinder, water and such...

So you are stating a height that you want to cut. Is the stone wider in the other direction?

Ideally, the saw blade should go completely through the stone. Cutting from 2 sides is possible but significantly more complicated and requires more practice.

You can also score the stone and separate (break) it with a chisel. However, this requires experience. I tried it with a chisel specifically bought for this purpose – without experience – and sometimes it worked, sometimes the result was quite uneven...

It is also important how you can hold the stone to be cut. If the whole piece is small, it becomes difficult.

In any case, such a project is doable for amateurs but definitely a challenge.

For the few square meters, you can also rent a stone breaker for 20€ and borrow a small angle grinder for the curbstones. A cheap disc does 4-5 cuts and costs 3-4€.

That is definitely the best idea.

if you want to cut dry, don't forget respiratory protection.

Thank you for all the tips!

Can you give me a keyword for paving without cutting or does that only apply to the stone arrangement where each stone is placed exactly the same measure over the other? In any other arrangement, one stone would be longer than the other or individual free corners would be left open.
