Hello Is there already any experience with aluminum decking boards? Our wooden terrace (thermo fir, not covered, snow and frost in winter) unfortunately needs to be replaced after 13 years and I am looking for alternatives - not WPC. I have read about aluminum boards or also epoxy. Perhaps someone has experience with this by now, I have only found 1 post from 2019. I am very grateful for tips. Thank you

Wtf is thermo spruce?
Looks like we both didn't look well: I didn't find the post from 2019, and you didn't find all the others: # # # # # # #

Spruce with thermal treatment. Whereas the promises for thermo wood are significantly longer than 13 years...

But maintenance-free performance under full weather exposure surely is not among these promises.

At prices of about 350 to 700€ per square meter, you will hardly get any reviews. It is absolute luxury. Few advantages compared to wood - only easier to maintain. I also question the CO2 footprint of aluminum. And if thermo wood is worn out after 13 years, I ask myself whether the construction was correct and the maintenance as well. No criticism towards you, but after 13 years there should be nothing wrong with the terrace (except for graying).

I would also say the slope is probably not correct. Standing water makes wood rot very quickly, while wood that dries quickly can last forever. Is everything equally damaged or is only one area particularly affected? What does the substructure look like?
