Hello I have a question about the air supply and exhaust for kitchen electrical appliances: With the refrigerator it is clear to me, I need a grille at the base for air supply and the exhaust air then comes out above the tall cabinet. How is it with the oven when it is installed in a tall cabinet without a cooktop? Does it also need a grille at the base for supply? Is the exhaust also discharged at the top of the tall cabinet or does it come out at the front of the oven (keyword Pyrolysis)? And how is it with a standalone cooktop? Do I also need a grille at the base for air supply? The exhaust comes out at the front between the countertop and the top drawer. Best regards Section Head

Depending on the manufacturer, it is different; I assume you are specifically asking about Ikea appliances here. In Whirlpool ovens, fresh air is supplied under the oven, while in Electrolux ovens, air is drawn in between the cabinet side wall and the oven. Exhaust air takes place between the control panel and the oven door. Depending on whether a single- or dual-channel ventilation is installed, in single-channel, cold air is blown from back to front, and the suction cools the oven door. In dual-channel, the air is sucked in from the door to the back, mixed with cold air, and in a second channel also blown out to the front. Only induction cooktops have a fan, and the air simply flows out to the front. In Faktum, the front crossbar in the base cabinet had to be omitted because it was too wide; in Metod, there are extra cabinets with ventilation slots in the crossbar. I can’t think of any manufacturer where a ventilation grille has to be installed in the base due to the stove. The base usually does not seal airtight.

Thank you!
Do you think I should install a ventilation grille in the base of the cabinet under the cooktop (but without an oven)?
Best regards

As far as I know, if it is an Ikea cooktop, you do not need that; it's best to check the installation manual of the cooktop, it should be mentioned there.
