Hello everyone,
we intended to have a 150sqm bungalow with a double garage built solidly. The plot of land has been reserved (costs with notary €135,000). A brief overview of our history: We currently live in our 270sqm house on a 1200sqm plot, an old building from 1900. We extended it by 60sqm in 2014. Our current property is paid off.
We want to sell the house for private family reasons (my husband's family lives next door) and immediately build a retirement-appropriate home. Additionally, we are now only three, soon two, so the house is way too big anyway. We are in our mid-50s and of course speculate that the house sale will cover the costs for the new house.
We are still unsure how exactly to proceed.
We have now first obtained an estimate for the shell construction, i.e., masonry, roof, double garage, screed, etc.
The construction company wants €295,000 for that... I find that extremely expensive... all other trades come on top of that. We live in Mecklenburg Vorpommern.
I would be very grateful for suggestions and tips.
