Hello,
Well, it is a bit more complicated. The house building company should of course do something like setting up a construction site facility. But they didn’t put up a construction fence or anything like that. There was simply an old fence already on our property. To make it even more complicated – we also have an external heating company that has nothing to do with the house building company. And they also just put advertising on our fence without asking. So actually, it’s about two cases of unsolicited advertising. I don’t know if this has become common nowadays. We are really surprised.
First of all – it is quite common that the craftsmen involved in the construction put their advertising on the construction fence; in your contract you will surely find a note that the contractor exercises house rights? Something similar should be found in the contract with the heating installer. If not, a short phone call with both contractors will surely help.
Secondly, I don’t quite understand your problem. What speaks against the craftsmen putting their advertising on the fence? After all, you consciously chose both and therefore have the necessary trust in the services of both. Why not also show this vote of confidence publicly, e.g. as a decision aid for other homebuilders?
And lastly:
Can they just do that or can I demand money for it?
What, in your opinion, would be an acceptable solution for you? You might want to consider that rarely everything goes smoothly on a construction site, or that you might want to ask the involved craftsmen for one favour or another.
Kind regards
