Hello,

maybe someone here can help me. Our construction company has put up advertising for themselves on the property fence without asking. However, I cannot find anything in the contract that allows them to do this. Can they just do that or can I demand money for it?

Thank you very much for any advice!

Best regards

Hi,
I find this approach by the construction company quite cheeky.
But before you make any money demands to the company, I would just call the company and address the sign.

Thank you very much!

I want to bring this up with the construction company. But I wanted to know beforehand if it's normal for them to simply do advertising.

Hello,

Who bears the costs of the construction site setup?

Kind regards

Well, it's a bit more complicated. The construction company should of course handle something like a site setup. But they didn't put up a construction fence or anything like that. There was simply already an old fence on our property.

To make it even more complicated - we also have an external heating company, which has nothing to do with the construction company. And they just put advertising on our fence without asking.

So actually, it’s about unsolicited advertising twice. I don’t know if this is common nowadays. We are really surprised.

Hello,

First of all – it is quite common that the craftsmen involved in the construction put their advertising on the construction fence; in your contract you will surely find a note that the contractor exercises house rights? Something similar should be found in the contract with the heating installer. If not, a short phone call with both contractors will surely help.

Secondly, I don’t quite understand your problem. What speaks against the craftsmen putting their advertising on the fence? After all, you consciously chose both and therefore have the necessary trust in the services of both. Why not also show this vote of confidence publicly, e.g. as a decision aid for other homebuilders?

And lastly:

What, in your opinion, would be an acceptable solution for you? You might want to consider that rarely everything goes smoothly on a construction site, or that you might want to ask the involved craftsmen for one favour or another.

Kind regards
