I wouldn't accept it like that either, a layman could do better. Too much was applied at once or it wasn't touched up again after drying, a professional should be able to do that better.

Maybe it wasn't a professional. The painter doesn't necessarily have to employ trained painters and varnishers for all tasks.

Or it was the apprentice. This topic came up on "Passt, Wackelt und hat Luft" on WDR, which is a show about apprentices, and there was a first-year painting apprentice who was supposed to paint a radiator and had drips, but had to sand it off again the next day, and the journeyman didn't let it pass like that. He said a nice phrase: I see it, and then the customer sees it too.

Painting with a brush is not rocket science, I have painted my stairs, wooden paneling, and radiators, and if you pay attention, that doesn't happen at all, and if it does, you just have to sand it again and redo it.

, I also thought of the show :D The journeyman also said that the customer pays a lot of money and then it should be done properly.
