Hello dear forum,

we ordered 3-layer oak click parquet from the internet. There are gaps in the beam, which are partly held together with threads. I found the whole thing somewhat adventurous and contacted the seller, who said:

"these gaps are in the backside veneer layer, which serves as counterbalance for the top layer. Normally, this is not a problem. If it bothers you, you can take pictures of it, but the manufacturers' response will be as I described. No problem.

The thread: the veneer backs are sewn by hand … the thread you see is the yarn used for this."

I have not been able to upload a photo so far (error despite 20kb).

What is your opinion?

thanks and regards KF55W

I would also be suspicious. Will the whole thing hold? No idea, I would send it back,... If you have damage exactly at the height of the column, then you have to apply a lot of filler to fill these small holes.

That should not be a problem, as this veneer as a [Blindfurnier] exclusively represents the back veneer to the face veneer on the front side. That is why the veneer "pulls" only in the grain direction.

Thank you for your opinions. Since we still have 0.6% CM, I have to wait until next week to unpack and then I will see how many of these "defective" ones are included. Another topic: Why should the parquet only be unpacked right before laying it? My idea: Since we cannot lay it yet, but I have time and less time the following week due to the move, I wanted to already lay out the parquet, cut, number, and stack it again so that I can glue it a week later. What speaks against this?

Nothing! Except that I would be worried that it might not fit after all = if something shifts and all the other pieces then do not fit.
