Hello,

we had terrace slabs from a tile specialist shop for sampling at our home, selected and ordered a color.
The slabs were delivered and checked by us (name of sample slab compared with the name on the packaging of the delivered slabs).
After about 3/4 of the slabs were installed (fixed installation), it seemed to us that the slabs were somewhat lighter than the selected ones.
Contacted the tile specialist shop and went there with one slab from us for comparison, the result was that the delivered slabs are the wrong ones.
The color Cream was selected and ordered, but a different color was delivered even though the packaging of the delivered slabs says Cream.

Unfortunately, we only noticed this so late.

Do we have to accept it now or is the tile specialist shop/manufacturer obliged to cover the costs for dismantling and re-delivery of the correct slabs? The defect lies with the manufacturer here; if the correct name had been on the packaging, we would have noticed it earlier.

Not knowing how big the difference is - off the cuff I'd say "it can't be that much, otherwise it would have been noticed earlier" - the question of clarification arises for me first:

- did the manufacturer package / label incorrectly?
- was the sample labeled incorrectly?
- does the manufacturer specify a color tolerance?
- what kind of panels are these specifically?

I ask because we ourselves distribute products "with color," where such questions occasionally arise - and then I always ask whether a RAL color tone was defined. No? Oh, look...

With our panels in the conservatory, for example, it was clearly stated at the time that there may be color differences - within one batch it fits, other batches may differ slightly.

According to the tile specialty store, the manufacturer must have mislabeled; there are only two possibilities...either the manufacturer mislabeled or the tile specialty store mislabeled the terrace slabs and thus ordered the wrong slab.

These are terrace slabs with a thickness of 2cm, or do you mean the exact designation of the terrace slabs?

Because the slabs were properly labeled, we did not think they were the wrong slabs. We only noticed when an area was laid.
We had several slabs for sampling with us, so we were no longer sure whether they were really the wrong slabs.

Only when we placed the slabs side by side at the tile specialty store was it clear.

There is indeed a color difference, not a batch problem.

Just post photos of both plates. Is the color difference really that drastic?

You didn’t order the plates yourselves, did you? The company that installs them is responsible. Submit a written complaint about the defect.

We ordered the tiles ourselves from the tile specialist store. On the left in the picture the ordered ones, on the right the received ones.
