Work plans and responsible for inspection on construction?

We have received our work plans (BP, EG, and OG) for review and approval. Among other things, a sentence confuses me, although I am not 100% sure whether it refers to us or the employees of the house manufacturer:

"All dimensions are rough construction measurements and must be checked on site."

Does anyone know this note and can tell me what obligation it entails for whom? Is this legally secured? To me, it reads as if my husband and I (because it is located directly by our signature field) have to check the measurements on site, which is not possible for us due to lack of experience and precise measuring tools. I assumed that especially with a prefabricated house, the measurements are checked in the factory and I am now worried whether the responsibility that the house is not crooked, does not develop cracks, or collapse at the end because a few millimeters or centimeters are missing or too much, will be transferred to us. One reason for us choosing a prefabricated house was that we hoped houses are easier to build accurately in the factory and are exposed to fewer adversities. If the responsibility for the correct measurements is now transferred to us, I would not find that fair. The house builder and their employees must deliver the ordered house in the correct size, I thought.

Does anyone have a similar note in their work plans?

What do you think? As always, many thanks for letting me turn to you with all my questions, whether smart or silly, ;-) .

Hmm, we also built with a prefabricated house provider (massive). I did not and could not check anything during the construction. There was the site manager who checked that. If there had been deviations, he would surely have raised the "alarm." The subsequent trades would also have immediately indicated any discrepancies. I believe this note is more directed at the employees of the construction company. But that does not mean that it is so...

I'm rather the type of person whose legal capacity should be revoked due to gullibility and naivety. I tend to forget reading contracts and checking stuff... it just stresses me out. On the other hand, there's currently a thread here where the foundation slab was obviously poured too small and the timber frame was then hastily patched up with steel brackets. So the question is: do you have an independent building expert or something like that? If yes, they would check the measurements. If not, maybe consider it? In any case, I find the wording suspicious.

No, your husband can definitely not check that – he sees slopes where there are hardly any :) All clear on the Andrea Doria, don’t panic, it’s quite harmless: What you are supposed to "review and approve" means matching the planning status with what was discussed. If you said shutter control to the left of the terrace door and now it is on the right (aka the other left), then you complain about that NOW. Nothing more is meant for you by that. The rough construction measurements mean, for example, the un-tiled wall, and the responsible check means: the kitchen guy should kindly show up with a tape measure before he makes the cabinets according to the plan measurements and then complains afterwards when they no longer fit between the finished walls. C’est tout. All information without guarantee with an "ä", nobody will be shot here :)

Attention! Even building surveyors do not measure every dimension again unless this has been explicitly agreed upon, and then it gets expensive, as easily an hour of work would be needed if they measured every wall again. I have even seen quotes where this was explicitly excluded. Therefore, re-measuring does no harm. And I have the wording like this on my plans for a masonry building, so it is probably common across different types.

That's what the site manager is for (normally).
