We are considering buying a wooden garage (please quickly google Alpholz Bora 70) instead of a solid garage for cost reasons.

But we have no idea about the quality of such garages. You can't find any online reviews. I'm particularly wondering how load-bearing the attic is.

Does anyone have experience with this?

As offered, there are probably many weak points that reduce the lifespan but can be easily remedied:

Do not install the garage flush with the ground, but place it on a small concrete base with underlaid bitumen membrane. This also allows the "foot purlin" to dry out at all times and not absorb water, which prolongs its life, and the doors can drip off as well. If necessary, mill the lower edge of the door at an angle (15°) to improve dripping.

Dispose of the roofing felt and instead replace it with battens and trapezoidal sheet metal or tile-look sheet metal (0.5mm-0.75mm with 35µ coating) and all-round wind deflectors, possibly install a gutter or gravel strips under the eaves.

Cover the top of the doors with aluminum or stainless steel profiles to protect the end grain of the wood.

Treat all weather-exposed parts BEFORE assembly on the outside and at contact points with glaze, oil, or paint.

Then you will have little maintenance effort and no fixed limitation on the lifespan.
