Hello

I have seen the wood chip heating system FT-3260 from ForesTec (Switzerland) in online ads. What is being offered actually sounds quite good. But I can’t find any more information about the heating system anywhere on the internet. Of course, the provider is very new. Has anyone heard anything about this heating system? I would be very interested in an answer.

Best regards, Hemmi

Hello Hemmi,
wood chip heating systems are hardly suitable for a single-family house; rather for commercial or residential complexes.
Wood chips are shredded wood burned in heating boilers - similar to wood pellet heating systems. Pellet heating systems are smaller (the FT 3260 you mentioned requires about 4m² of floor space and an installation height of 2.20m), pellets have a higher energy yield, ash and fine dust emissions are quite high with wood chip heating systems. You heat more efficiently with wood pellets.

Hello Hertweck

On the other pictures (datasheet) it says that you can also heat completely with pellets. I actually find that quite interesting. I don't have much storage space for pellets, so when these are empty I can heat with firewood. I also still have forest and have wood.

The question is, has anyone heard of Forestec heaters?

Regards, Hemmi

Hello again,
If the boiler has separate combustion chambers for firewood and pellets, it would be no problem to heat with both – which, however, requires electronic control; devices that are state-of-the-art have this anyway.
Forestec seems rather to be an import-export company for technical devices, probably not a long-established or traditional company like, for example, Buderus, Vaillant, Paradigma... The type of advertising, the internet appearances (on classified ad portals, at Haus und Garten, Pinnwand.ch etc., always with the same PDF brochure) suggests that this company probably does not have an actual company headquarters in Switzerland or the EU.

Hello forum members

By chance, I have already heard of a wood chip and pellets supplier. However, nothing bad at all, the heaters are very robust, fully electronic, and with this lambda sensor. The company is new and would still produce in Switzerland by the end of the year.

A nice Sunday
