The tape fully meets the requirements of the RAL standard for window installation.. when it is applied correctly! However, the element MUST be fastened or mounted in the installation area using special distance screws, and not by the variant "Standard = KS wedges/plates."
Therefore, your execution would be a construction defect.. or as you so nicely put it, botched construction. Inform your site manager, who unfortunately has no knowledge of this product, by registered mail with return receipt and demand that he immediately rectifies this construction defect.
