Hello everyone, I am currently renovating and remodeling my house. The house is located in the Offenbach district/Hessen. On one side, the house was built on the property boundary. The distance to the neighbor's house is approximately 3m. I would now like to install a window in this wall on both the ground floor and the upper floor. Below are my questions: 1.) Does the neighbor have to agree to the windows since there is a boundary construction? 2.) Do these windows have to be constructed as fire protection windows? 3.) Are fire protection windows allowed to be openable? Thank you in advance Regards Alex

Hello,

have a read here:

**According to the decision of 08.03.2012, file no.: 3 A 398/11, the Administrative Court of Hesse confirmed the admissibility of openings in fire protection walls, provided that the protection objectives of § 13 HBO are not violated by the openings.

Rhenish greetings
