Hello, I hope someone here can help me or give me a few tips. I bought a Scandinavian wooden house, about 16 years old. The windows are wooden and very warped; adjusting them etc. no longer helps, and they would also need to be refurbished, including paint and seals. We want to have new windows installed and will have a visit from the window fitter this week. We are now considering whether to install plastic windows in a wood look, as the maintenance effort is lower and they also last longer. Has anyone had experience with this or should we have wooden windows installed again, etc.?

Why are the existing windows no longer usable after only 16 years? Have the windows or the house warped?

So, a carpenter should take another look at them before they are thrown away. Unlikely, at the end after 16 years. Softwood windows last 50 years and more.
