When I look at windows that I like, they do not have a centered window opening but rather a 1/3 vs 2/3 ratio. I have seen this ratio in both windows with parapet height and narrow windows (e.g., bathrooms). Does anyone have this? Is my estimated ratio correct? Since I would like to have the frame offset to the sash surface so that the window division is narrower, I would seal one side fixed and take the other for opening - does that work? Anyone experienced?

Which window widths are you talking about? And maybe one or two pictures of what you like.

We also decided on the 2/3 // 1/3 division. However, in the version with a casement and no fixed part. It also appealed to me more visually. This way, the narrower sash can be used for ventilation and if you (man?) want to clean the window, it is also possible to open the larger sash.

It came about more or less by chance due to the architecture.

Thank you very much for the detailed answer. Apparently, I am not as deep into the topic as you are – what exactly do you mean by stulp? Have you already built and possibly have real pictures?

Currently all theory! Are there measurements? Otherwise, it really isn't valuable.

Of course it is theory, because after that I plan / have the window openings planned and accordingly the sizes to get enough light per weather side. For me, it's purely about the style and feasibility of this type of window.
