Who among you uses contracting (district heating)?

The question is already in the title.

How long is your contract period?
What is the base price and the usage price?

In our new development area, there are only connections to the district heating network. No other primary heating system is allowed. The contract term is 10 years and the base price is fixed for 15 years.

The base price is €140.00 gross per kW of heating capacity. We have 4.5 kW.

The usage price changes annually according to the calculation in the attachment.



Setting up the local heating cost €4,000.

For me as a non-district heating customer, that sounds quite expensive. For the amount of heating energy in the example, I pay about €450 per year.

You have to offset the investment costs for your heat pump/gas heating/solar including interest costs.

Correct. And the maintenance costs for the same. The basic price covers all costs related to the heat exchanger and the combined heat and power plant.

One thousand euros per year easily covers that. Even with an air-water heat pump and slightly higher operating costs, you are much better off in less than 10 years. But it doesn't matter anyway if you can't choose.
