Dear forum,

After two months in our house, 1&1 canceled the contract for DSL and telephone because they "could not access" our connection. No idea what was going on there, we had a quick start option via USB, so we were online immediately. Now they have very spontaneously shut everything down.. we are now surfing provisionally via mobile phone or tablet and will probably have to sign a contract with Telekom.
However, we are having trouble with the offers on the Telekom site :(
Is there anything you would recommend? We have a 16000 line here, need a normal DSL for evening surfing use as well as landline.

Best regards
Yvonne

I would first have the connection from Telekom made functional without another provider having their fingers involved. That only reduces Telekom's motivation. Therefore, order the telephony connection "Call Plus". It has no minimum contract term. If you can make calls with it and there is a phone number for the connection, switching is much less prone to coordination problems between Telekom and the competitor.

Thank you, klblb. We can imagine staying with T for the first 2 years, online you can probably save 10% as well. Does Call plus also include an Internet flat? Calling works quite well with the mobile flat rates we have anyway ;)

ypg, if you want to be with Telekom for phone, internet and possibly TV anyway, you can of course book a corresponding package directly. Call Plus is only telephony without a minimum contract period and is therefore well suited for my above-described "trick".

Hello! We have the same problem! We are with Alice, they can't find us and recommended getting a Call Plus tariff to be found first. They cover the costs (about €70 pure connection fee).

6 days' notice period. Once you have a landline number, the providers find it easier to locate you!

We had exactly the same problem. We then also signed up for Call Plus. But even with that, it was not approved in the DTAG system so that other providers could take over. In the end, we made a 2-year contract with DTAG, then it worked. Strange, the monopoly is actually over ;) Well, the 2 years are up, and I was able to switch now. The DTAG guy called the same evening of the cancellation and kept talking at me.... in the end he said: OK, so it was a forced marriage. That's unfortunately how it looks. But you can also be lucky. The semi-detached neighbors were able to start directly with someone else.
