Hello
we have now had our Malm bed for quite a while. Since my mattress was still okay back then and my partner’s was too, we only equipped the bed frame with the slatted frames, put our old mattresses on it, and that was fine.
But now that our 2 mattresses are worn out and the slatted frame often shifts (which is quite annoying at times), I am now considering new mattresses and at the same time a new slatted frame. Which slatted frame fits best with the Malm bed?

I have picked out these 2:
1 Sultan Lonevag
2 Sultan Lödingen

There would be either of these mattresses:
Sultan Fonnes or Sultan Flataker

Who has this combination and is it okay?

You’d have to try out the mattress anyway to see if it fits.

Would be grateful for tips
Cheers

That's exactly the point - you should definitely try lying on it...! Everyone has different preferences, but the Fonnes is actually a children's mattress. So I would rather advise you against it. Although the most expensive mattress is not always the best for your sleeping comfort - since you spend a third of your life in bed, I can only recommend spending a little more money and buying something that really suits you! (Rücken, Bauch oder Seitenschläfer/Warmer oder Kalter Schläfer/Allergien?/Körpergewicht/Rückenprobleme/Körperbau/etc....) You see, the price question alone rarely does the trick...

All the best with your selection!

Hi Elvis, thanks first of all for your answer. First of all, the slatted frames were/are the priority. I don't know which of the two is better. The first one has a headrest to raise, the other doesn't. I would like to know if both slatted frames can be used without problems on the [MAlmbettgestell]. We currently still have the cheapest ones in, which wasn't so important to us back then since the bed & one wardrobe already cost enough, so we saved on the slatted frame. It worked fine, only that it always slips around, which is annoying especially sometimes in the middle of the night, that really gets on your nerves. Best regards, Ivar77

Theoretically, you can use both since they have a frame and therefore cannot slip away. Neither of them is particularly high-quality or comfortable. One is adjustable, the other is not. Otherwise, no difference. I don’t want to preach to you – if they suit you in terms of lying comfort, that’s totally fine. Personally, I just don’t consider it a waste to spend a little money on something decent for something like my healthy sleep. But that’s coming from a guy with back problems... If you have no physical issues at all and it doesn’t matter to you, you have my envy – then you’ll probably be happy with the Lödingen/Lonevag – Flataker combo (it’s quite a hard combo, maybe you like it that way) – I’d just skip the Fonnes. If you weigh more than 50-60 kilos, otherwise you’ll sink through it except for the slatted frame. You can also take the mattress check on the Ikea website. Regards
