Hi guys,

I've been suffering from severe back and neck pain for quite some time. Despite the fact that I do sports and have visited a doctor many times, who only prescribes me stupid pills, it doesn't get better. :(
I have the feeling that it might be due to my mattress. Last week, when I was on a business trip and slept in a hotel for a week, I had less pain. The mattress was very comfortable and my sleep was quite deep too  Maybe you can recommend a good mattress and pillow?? Has anyone had the same problem??

Looking forward to your reply :)

Regards Farmay:-):)

Unfortunately, recommendations are completely useless. You have to try them out. One was highly recommended to us, we also found it quite comfortable when trying it out, but I get back pain immediately (as a stomach sleeper) as soon as I don’t put a flat pillow under my stomach. And I weigh 55 kg at 1.67 m height. Unfortunately, we missed the 100-day return period.

Go to a good furniture store and have a mattress delivered to you; try it out and exchange it as long as necessary until you have found the right one for yourself.

Recently, a mattress for 199 euros was the test winner from an online retailer at Stiftung Warentest. In the test from 25.8.16 - 252 mattresses in the test, various types of mattresses were also addressed. Maybe this helps you?

Hi,

Off Topic:

What kind of sports do you do? Remote diagnoses are tricky and should be taken with caution, but that already sounds very much like the classic pain caused by insufficiently trained neck and back muscles. In other words, if you go to the gym: maybe have someone show you exercises specifically for strengthening neck, back, and abdominal muscles. It worked wonders for me!

Another possibility: Is there a draft in your bedroom?

On Topic:
Only trying will help here. Personally, I think all the fuss about €1000 mattresses is nonsense. I've been sleeping for years on an €80 Ikea mattress. I only get back pain if I don't exercise for weeks and work too much.

Best regards,

Andreas

Spontaneously, I would recommend you to find out about this hotel and ask what kind of mattresses they exactly have. If you have back pain, it can really be due to the wrong mattress.. Maybe you should see an orthopedist and get advice from him. Otherwise, I would also recommend comparing online and choosing something there. When I wanted to buy mine, after a long comparison, I decided on #link durch Moderation entfernt; Bauexperte. Until you are completely sure where your pain is coming from, you could also go for massages as a temporary solution. That would definitely help you! Hope I could help you  good luck and patience! regards
