We want to have a house that is currently rented demolished next month and rebuilt on the same site next year.

So far, we have a residential building insurance and a homeowner's liability insurance for this property.

We need to inform the insurance about our plans, don't we?

Is there something like a builder's insurance? Who pays for the damage if something happens to neighboring houses or passersby during the demolition or new construction?

A neighbor fears cracks caused by piling activities.

The landowner liability insurance was sufficient for the demolition in our case. This was confirmed by the insurer beforehand.

We did not have to.

Yes, but according to our insurer, it is not necessary for the demolition. As mentioned, the landowner liability insurance is sufficient.

For this, the demolition company had insurance with a so-called radius clause. Everything within a radius of, I believe, 500 m was insured.

Definitely carry out extensive evidence preservation beforehand. Better to have too many photos than too few. For example, I also photographed the street, sidewalks, etc.

Smart decision, before everyone opens their hands afterward and wants to have repairs done
