Hello everyone,
our house is currently being built by the developer and is expected to be handed over in March.
We will then carry out a lot of the electrical work, walls, floors, and doors ourselves, as well as the exterior landscaping.
The majority of the work will be done by us, with a lot of help from family, and possibly occasionally some friends.
The duration of the self-performed work is unlikely to exceed 2 months.
Which insurances do we absolutely need? Is registration with the BG Bau mandatory?
The house and the exterior facilities will already be finished on the outside at the time of handover, or just not yet planted.
Possible options include builder’s liability insurance, construction helper liability insurance, and construction performance insurance.
Fortunately, fire shell construction insurance is included in the later residential building insurance.
We do not want to be "over"-insured and most information found online actually comes from insurance companies who, as is well known, want to sell.
What do you think about this?
Thank you in advance!
