Which heating system have you planned?

Hello everyone,

I need your advice. My wife and I want to build a single-family house (with a basement) with a living area of about 140 sqm. Two children are planned.

My question is, which heating system would you recommend to us?

Further information:

- A gas connection would be available, but my wife and I are not really fans of gas.
- A stove is planned in the living room. Every year, three cubic meters of wood are available for free.
- A gable roof is planned. The roofs have southeast or southwest orientation.
- Whether Kfw 70 or KFW 55 will be built is still open. Possibly Kfw 55 could also be worthwhile with the 10,000 houses program from the Free State of Bavaria.
- If KfW 55 is built, a ventilation system is planned.

Thank you in advance for your efforts.

Regards

bastle

If the property and other conditions allow, brine heat pump with trench collector in self-performed work. Affordable, efficient, and durable.

Hello bastle,

you are certainly still at a very early stage regarding the planning of the energy demand or the construction of the building, so I would postpone the concrete selection of a heat generator a bit or at least critically question it. In my opinion, before items such as a heat load calculation according to DIN EN 12831 etc. have been carried out, the selection of a heat generator is not purposeful. Furthermore, you should also consider which heat distribution system you want to use.

Once the basics are established, I would neutrally consider all heat generation technologies if I were you. With the current status and also regarding future planning, gas is an absolutely attractive fuel. You write that you and your wife are "not really fans of gas." Is this based on certain experiences or assumptions, or what reasons are there for this? You might thereby rule out an option for heat generation that is attractive from many perspectives.

Best regards, Erik from moderne.heizung
