I hope I am asking my question in the right place. We are currently considering what type of flooring we want in our garage. We thought about tiles or basement paint. We are leaning heavily towards the paint because it is much cheaper, but we are not sure how it is with the moisture. I have to mention that our garage has a basement underneath. This basement room serves as a storage room for garden tools and is not heated. We are afraid that the water brought in by our cars will seep through the screed.

I am currently looking into this question (Betonfertiggarage ohne Keller) and have decided on a two-component epoxy resin coating ("2K-Garagensiegel", "2K-Garagenfarbe", "2K-EP-Garagenfarbe" ... available at specialist building suppliers and well-stocked hardware stores). Since I haven't bought anything yet, I can still change this plan ... ;-).

The coating with simple cellar paint/concrete paint surely also works, although I think that the two-component systems are somewhat more durable.

I wouldn't be worried about that. What is underneath the screed? Concrete ceiling?
