Which bathtub shape should we choose?

Hello,
I hope you are all still healthy!
I am currently overwhelmed by the incredibly large selection of bathroom ceramics. I am stuck choosing the bathtub.
Brief key data: built-in tub, dimensions 180x80cm, 2-seater, so the drain is in the middle, material: that's already a science in itself. Since we were satisfied with our Kaldewei tub, it should be steel enamel again.
Now I am faced with the agony of choice whether the "bowl" should be oval or rectangular. Rectangular looks more modern, in my opinion. But I don’t know how it feels to sit in it or whether you even notice a difference compared to an oval shape.
The oval tub has more shelf space in the corners. Our tub will go in a corner where there will anyway be shelf space on the sides. Therefore, that is not so important.
From the feeling, I thought that the interior dimensions of a rectangular tub would be larger. Surprisingly, I found in comparison that the oval tub wins there.
Therefore, I have no idea based on which criteria I should decide. Do you have a tip or an idea?
Attached are 2 pictures from Kaldewei to illustrate what I mean.

We had thought about that too and went to a large bathroom exhibition and tried it out. The round tubs were very uncomfortable for me because I felt very restricted in my shoulders. I found the square tubs much more comfortable and so the decision was easy. If I were you, I would definitely try it out.

Best regards

If you can, I would always go to an exhibition and lie in it. The most important thing is that the bathtub is comfortable, and these things do cost quite a bit. I wouldn’t want anything that might look better but doesn’t fit snugly to my body.

There is also a mix of both shapes:
In this case, the bathtub is, for example, not encased.

Otherwise, should we orient ourselves to the shape of the washbasins?

Your pictured „Conoduo“ has quite an edge, we have the „Puroduo“, which is more rounded in the head-neck area.

Thank you very much for the tip! Are you happy with the Puroduo? I find the shape very stylish, unfortunately it doesn't have white plugs, which we like very much. We also have neck pillows for the tub, so the edge probably wouldn't be such a big deal. And we could choose the matching under-counter washbasin.

Your suggestion doesn't fit with us because the tub is installed from both short sides. Still, thanks. In Corona times it will probably be difficult to try it out. Unfortunately, most stores usually don't have all models available either. Also, we will probably order over the Internet, which of course is also against trying it out in the store. My husband doesn't care so much that the tub and washbasin come from the same collection. I'm not sure. At least they are not next to each other. Otherwise see above.

Hello pinky, I find the round bathtub shape much more appealing. As my predecessor already wrote, I also find the 'Nackenkante' very uncomfortable. To what extent a pillow helps there, I cannot judge. However, I think that this rounder shape simply fits the shoulders and back more nicely. You lie very comfortably indeed. I can still say that after 8 years of using it 1-2 times a week! Our bathtub also does not come from the same program as our washbasin (from Esprit), but the washbasin and bathtub have a similar shape (no edges). Although the material is also different (acrylic vs mineral cast) and both objects stand next to each other, you can't see any difference! On the contrary: we were often asked which connected bathroom furniture series we have! Best regards
