the following problem: I am currently in the middle of window renovation and am wondering which dowels (window dowels/metal expansion dowels) I actually need for secure fastening. Is there any rule of thumb that can be followed?

The windows are approximately 1400 x 1000 mm in 3500 brick masonry.
