What should be considered when positioning.. rather visible to everyone (then thieves might destroy it beforehand)? Or rather inconspicuous, but still clearly visible in case of an alarm? Does the visibility of a siren alone already have a deterrent effect? What do you recommend? Best regards, Steffi.

What does the police advise?

Such a device has two effects:

1) Deterrence
2) Oh, there's something to get.

If used, then visible and as high as possible, at least ceiling height of the 1st floor or gable wall peak.

Hello.. it's me again... maybe you could just upload a photo where you have installed your "siren" on the house? I somehow find it difficult.. those things don't exactly beautify the house.. ;-) But maybe it’s visually only half as bad..? Our electrician also says, as high as possible (at least 3.50 m).. Best regards, Steffi.

I have none, I consider it unnecessary.

I sometimes also wonder if one is already thinking paranoically.. But when everyone talks about it, you somehow catch it. Now we also already have the magnetic contacts on windows and doors.. What's the use of all that if in case of a break-in no loud alarm and flashing lights go off..

What have you done for burglary security?

Exactly nothing. I believe that whoever wants to get in will always get in.

I count on attentive neighbors and good household insurance.

Maybe soon a floodlight or two will be added, also with motion sensors, but originally they are intended for nighttime cleanup after parties.

I rather rely on really important things being in the safe at the bank.

There is no cash at home, and the most expensive things in the house are the 55" TV and the Thermomix.

If those are gone, I can live with it.
