When did Ikea Billy shelf change the color to beech?

I just bought another Billy shelf in beech and noticed that the color tone does not match the old shelves. It used to be a more reddish tone. The new shelf looks paler in contrast.

Does anyone know when Ikea changed the color tone and where you can still get the old shelves?

Even if I make myself a bit annoyingly clever and unpopular now... but, are you sure that your old shelf hasn’t simply darkened a bit over time?

I thought that at first too. But that is not real veneer, just a plastic imitation. It does not darken over time. Besides, I have already bought several shelves from the Billy series at different times. They all had exactly the same shade. It is not only darker but also has a more reddish hue.
