I recently saw door hinges with threads in a hotel; due to the door's own weight, they closed by themselves. Does anyone know what these are called?

Thank you very much,

Sebastian

Good morning construction expert,

thank you. But unfortunately, I also cannot find this type under this term.

Hello Sebastian,

Then try it once under the designation "Türband" with spring:

Türband

With spring: adjustable, one-sided acting mechanical locking device to carry a door and close it with a prestressed cylindrical coil spring without braking.

Kind regards

Is this perhaps a form of a lifting hinge?

I looked again more closely:

The thing is called door lifting hinge

[TD="align: Center"]

I found this text about it on a website:

Special hinge that slightly lifts doors when opening and lowers them again when closing, which is achieved by a hinge pin with a threaded spindle. Door lifting hinges are installed where there are unevennesses in the floor covering and it should be avoided that the door leaf rubs over the carpet or parquet floor. The use of such hinges also means that no door leaves need to be shortened. Heavy front doors cannot be equipped with such hinges, but all interior doors – including those made entirely of glass – can be. Door lifting hinges are offered for wood and steel frames.
