What coating should be used on the ceilings?

since our prefabricated house will be assembled in the coming weeks and we will do the painting work ourselves, the question arises about the suitable ceiling covering.

Until now we always had wallpapered ceilings, but now I have heard about [Rollputz], which is supposed to be super easy to apply.

What experiences and tips do you have for the ceiling design of our house?

I have a stretch ceiling. It looks awesome. Of course, you can't do something like that throughout the whole house because it is relatively expensive, but in the living room, it’s definitely possible. Your textured plaster is a real dirt trap and will look dirty after a few years.

We have textured plaster on the walls, looks great and doesn’t attract dirt (and is really easy to work with). For the ceiling, however, I would go with a smooth/calm surface. We plastered the ceiling smoothly and simply painted it white.

What kind of costs can you expect approximately per sqm for a foil stretch ceiling and how is it installed? Does it have to be done by a professional or can it be done on your own? I am considering doing this in our kitchen because we have white lacquer fronts there. Thus, a white "lacquer" ceiling would unify the look. The question is: Is something like this suitable for the kitchen? We will have ceiling spots; do you need to take any special precautions there? Regards

In any case, first test whether the ceiling is structurally load-bearing and can "hold" the plaster, otherwise you'll end up with a huge mess. And don't forget to prime!
