or maybe a waterproof light well?

Hello first of all, we are in the middle of basement planning and now I am not sure if and if so what we should decide on, can someone give us a tip - I would be grateful for any :) Best regards

Hello häuslebauer79,

I once read that pressure-waterproof light wells are more expensive and always require maintenance of the water drainage.
If the groundwater rises too much, their shut-off valve closes by itself.
Pressure-waterproof windows are cheaper and supposedly it is not a problem if something backs up during the drainage. They are like the portholes of a ship.

Hello,

Mhm, I know about pressure-waterproof LS, but pressure-waterproof basement windows would be new to me. You probably mean "flood-proof" basement windows? But those would only be necessary if the person asking is building near a river/lake/sea that is repeatedly at risk of flooding.

Best regards
